Restarting the service "Computer Browser" has not made any difference. Humax box can still see the servers, but thinks there's nothing on them.

    Re: UPnP:

Found the bit where that's an option: it is now and has always been set as follows:
"UPnP Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) enables a wide range of devices and applications like games and messaging to connect to each other and work together.

    UPnP: ON
    Extended UPnP security: ON
We recommend you keep 'Extended UPnP Security' turned on to make sure your home network is secure.

    So... I don't think that's the issue?

What happens if you change that setting to Off?

    IT WORKED!

I mean, it's working now. I'll give it a couple of days to bed in and see if it keeps working, but that seems to have at least temporarily got it back.

Which then leads on to the question: what IS "Extended uPnP Security", why would I need it, and what are the risks of turning it off?

A quick google suggests it is to do with firewalling ports opened by uPnP. There are several reports of people having various issues that are resolved by turning it off.
