Do any of them have Freeview-HD tuners ?

Some do and some just have SD tuners.
So do most Freeview-HD tuners have the DVB-T2/DVB-T option for manual tuning?

Yes (well all the TV's and boxes I have tuned do). SD boxes/TVs don't have DVB-T2.

In fact some TV's have HD tuning but no DVB-T2 (DVB-T is used in some countries for digital high definition broadcasting). You can't use these for Freeview-HD of course.

The 40" Sony I am watching is one.

The Samsung Freeview HD TV's that I use, Do not require the selection of DVB-T, or DVB-T2 when manual tuning.

So do they scan each channel twice once looking for a DVB-T signal and once for a DVB-T2 (which is what the Humax does when doing an automatic tune)? If they do, does that make a manual tune slower on the Samsung?

My Sony TV does not need manual selection of DVB-T/DVB-T2. When a frequency is selected for a manual tune the Sony is very quick to display the 'quality' which I presume first need analysis of whether to use DVB-T2 or DVB-T.

Ah my new 2000T did not find any DVB-T2 (on CH21 Sandy Heath) when doing automatic tuning. I did a manual scan on CH21 and set it to DVB-T2, then it worked.

My Samsung TVs do not need any manual selection of DVB-T2.

    Regards,
