If you move the Humax back to the living room are you able to connect via WiFi? If so, perhaps the problem is with the TP-link?

The box has never been used over WiFi. Only Ethernet. Same with my LG Theatre system. I’ve tried to connect to the original WiFi signal yes. It doesn’t work either. If I could post a video I would. But that’s not possible on here with such a limited photo/video upload capacity.

There seems very little point in a video of a device not connecting to a WiFi source anyway. Most/a lot of us will have experienced that particular delight ourselves. And we do believe you.

I’ll just have to run an cable around my bedroom and get an Ethernet port to use my devices. Faffing around with settings in routers and my devices isn’t something I’m comfortable doing. Especially as I share with 5 other people. If I break something they’ll be pissed!

Just do a factory reset on the Humax and chances are that you will be able to connect. If not, then the issue lies elsewhere.

I’ve factory reset twice and with my theatre system. All my other devices in my bedroom are connected to the WiFi. I’ve also factory reset the main router.

Doesn't the TP link device have a network socket you can connect to ? Can you post the model number ?

And you have a similar unit at the router end connected to the routers network switch with a network patch cable ?

Yes there’s another device which is connected straight into the main router via Ethernet.
