    Hi again guys.
I'm posting a new question here as I got told off for posting wrongly last time and could not understand/find where to post a new thread?

So..... been using my 1100s ok for a while now, but just recently I found when starting up the TV I have to stop & start the 1100s again before my LG TV will pick it up.
It didn't do this before. It just picked it up when I turned on the TV (once I had identified the correct HDMI of course)
It still takes forever to get going, but that's another story.

    Regards
    Bob

Yes it is brand new from John Lewis.
And Yes, it did search for updates, so I assume it's up to date (fongers crossed)
There are several recorded programs, mostly on BBC, so could watch on Catch-up maybe, if I am to factory reset it.

A factory reset does not affect existing recordings. Just the recording schedule.

Have you tried turning on the TV first and selecting the right input before booting the box ?

    And thanks Graham.
That IS the usual way I get it all going.

It generally works best for me. It will likely vary with different TV's. Could be a HDMI-HDCP handshake issue.

More importantly did it sort out the problem ?

    Late replying again

I haven't tried "handshaking it TBO, I didn't think of that.
    I'll give it a go.
    Thanks again.

A good/better buy than what? It appears to me to be a set top box without any recording capability.
