I noticed this on Youtube but then on BBC Iplayer, basically the picture is zoomed in slightly and for that reason i'm missing a bit of picture.

The image above is watching BBC Iplayer on the Humax 1100S as you can see the BBC icon is right up to the edge of the TV screen.

The image above is watching BBC Iplayer on my Firestick, they are both plugged directly into the TV with their HDMI cable.

I'm sure the settings on my Humax should be 16:9 but I only have the option of 14:9 ??

Has anyone else noticed this issue?

    Thanks in advance.

Never seen a setting of 14:9 on a 2nd generation Freesat box. Mine offers 16:9 or 4:3 (Settings Picture and Sound). Only reason I can think of is the TV reports a 14:9 panel during the EDID data interchange during HDCP handshake. While tuned to the 1100S what do you have the TV aspect ratio set to in it's own setup menus ?

It's normal for a bit of the picture to get chopped off by default, turn off overscan in the TV setup menu (With some content you may see some noise on the outer picture limits).

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply.

I have it set to auto.

The options i have are the following

    Screen ratio;
    16/9 or 4/3 i have 16/9 selected

    display format
    Anamorphic
    Auto
    4:3 Pillarbox
    Centre cut out

I have it currently set to auto. I've tried anamorphic and 14/9 but it still has parts of the video picture missing.

    Resolution is set to 720p

Strange. My TV is a sony KDL-40EX503

    Why do you have it set to 720P ? Your TV has a full-HD 1920 x 1080 panel (with square pixels, 16:9 720p 1280 x 720 aren't square). Use 1080i or 1080p whichever looks best.

Have you found the overscan settings on the TV ?

    Try

On the Bravia HOME > Settings > Setup > Screen Settings > Display Area

    Full Pixel

    It doesn't make any difference.

It's weird as BBC iPlayer works perfectly on my Amazon fire stick and my Chromecast. Which are also directly plugged into hdmi ports on the side of the TV.

I think it's just a problem with my box or maybe it doesn't like my TV.

I've tried my box going from the hdmi output, into the back of my Sony home.Cinema box but it has exactly the same problem.

It's annoying as the text on the new sia song is also missing at the bottom of the screens well half of the text is missing. When i click guide and you get the little mini display, all the text is shown correctly. Arghhh.

I know it's nothing major but it's annoying for me as it should show the whole screen rather than being zoomed in.

Strange - what happens if you connect the 1100S to the port normally used by the firestick ?
