I would not make a good tester based on the fact that I acknowledged I have been accepted on the trial and also based on the fact I have an email saying I can discuss it in this forum. I have no intention of discussing it as we've been told not to. However, arguing that I shouldn't beta test based on the above is your own opinion which I don't agree with.

This forum has always been the best source of the first and most reliable source of of all things Humax.

there is no defamatory slur - see my post. However, the dictatorial manner that some mods in this forum present themselves has driven people away to other friendlier forums.
Just saying. It seems that people are frightened to post anything for fear of upsetting the mods. I mean, do I now need permission to breath whilst I write this or permission to make a cup of tea?

A real chance to improve this box seems to have been diverted by classic forum bickering.

Just saying. It seems that people are frightened to post anything for fear of upsetting the mods.I have never been afraid to post and I sometimes disagree with Barry. I think it is perfectly reasonable that the people doing the work to run the Forum (and with the inside contacts) set a policy that makes them feel comfortable. If other people don't like the policy then, as you say, other forums are available.

I'm more than happy to test new firmware (Providing Humax replace the box if it's bricked) as I have many issues I would love to discuss with Humax rather than bicker about it. From a consumer point of view there are many issues that need addressing, and from an IT specialist view there are far more.

That should not be a problem as you can already download the current firmware from the Humax Support site. So, apply for the trial, try the new softare and if you have problems, back it out and replace it with the current firmware.
From a consumer point of view there are many issues that need addressing, and from an IT specialist view there are far more.
Correct on both counts! Hopefully the trial will allow both to be fixed. I am sure Humax is every bit as keen as we are to get this to be a great box.
