One key press is not enough, I had to make 5 just to get my recordings to show up then another 3 to start a recording. This box IS so slow so I've ripped it out of my system and am going to sell it. I've gone back to my Freetime box, key press on that is instant just as every other piece of kit is instant. Freetime Plus box is useless and I'm a Humax fan who's had 4 boxes over the years and still have the first Freesat box they made somewhere.

It might not be the unit, but your remote.....when you press a button see if the power button on the remote illuminates at the same time....

I have new batteries in the remote and the red light flashes every time I press a key but the unit doesn't respond most of the time (90%)unless I repeatedly press a key. I have tried my Freesat remote with it too and get the same. The unit is just so slow and unresponsive 90% of the time. I can't be doing with it so have put my Freetime box back into the main room. I have a Samsung Freeview box too and that is no trouble at all. The Freetime box responds as expected no issues whatsoever. It's not as if other equipment interferes with it as it's on it's own wooden shelf in my racking system well above my Amiga 1000 with plenty of clearance around it

Software version 1.01.57 doesn't deal with or in my case improve the empty schedule problem either despite the software's release note suggestion, see my post at

Just noticed one, to me major, problem with this update.
The volume used to have a number below the bars!
    That is no longer there???

Are you saying the volume works, mine does. But the number below the bars is not there?

There does need to be a clear and direct line of view from the remote to the 4000T, or at least there does with mine.

I rarely had to press a button more than once until Christmas when I got a new armchair and footstool. I found that my feet and/or the footstool often get in the way of the signal requiring a second or third button press from a slightly different angle.

The new remote I am trying so far appears to be more tolerant of these obstacles

The number at the bottom of the volume bars is still there on mine after the update.

Just rebooted and the numbers are back.
I suppose a bug crept in. Thanks anyway.
