I`m looking forward to the immanent Netfix addition. By the way can anyone confirm if Discovery Channel & Nat Geographic Channel programmes such as Wheeler Dealers & Car SOS are on there?

Search does not find either programme I'm afraid.</blockquote>

Oh well i`ll have to make do with Youtube for those then. Cheers Barry.

So, I made sure that disc activity had ceased then turned off at the mains for ten minutes. Turning back on and the recordings had returned. However, I have duplicates of some of the recordings (it looks like any one off recordings are duplicated).

Also a new Wi-Fi bug. The status checker says everything is okay but when I press the On Demand button I get the screen telling me to connect to the internet.

I'm copying off any essential recording and then I'm going to format and do a factory default.

New poster here. Update happened sometime yesterday and seemed to cause wifi to be forgotten for a while, then passcodes etc were not recognised. On switching on this morning, all on demand services (iplayer etc) were missing as options and seeminging unobtainable. The on demand button on the remote was effectively useless. Only by switching off at the mains and unplugging for a few minutes did they come back.

Oh - and I should have added that the wifi managed to reconnect satisfactorily today without needing to re-enter the passcode, and so happily that bug was only temporary. Annoying though.

After doing a factory default and reformat. All but the Wi-Fi was working. Exactly the same issue as you. I'm hoping that leaving it alone for a while that it will come back like yours did!

(Tested with an EE Brightbox and a Huawei 4g router)

Any help would be appreciated. I recently purchased a 4K UHD TV to which I connected my FVP-4000T,and was immediately disappointed with the picture quality compared to the five year old tv it replaced. Tried all manner of picture settings on the tv to no avail. Then I tried the 2160P resolution on the Humax, and the improvement was immediate and basically amazing. Could not wish for better. Then I updated to the latest software and now when I choose 2160P,it's no better than 576i. Any ideas or help please.

Well, after coming back to it this morning, the Wi-Fi is now working without me re-entering the password. Just as happened with Luddite.

I have to say that was not a smooth process. And I would echo the annoying comment made by Luddite. I would strongly suggest that more thorough beta testing takes place before the next update. After all, this may be happening to non-techie users who will think their boxes are broken.

(This is not a slight at those generous forum members who gave their time to the trial, as you wouldn't have tested the automatic overnight update process.)

Software update seems ok. However, when I power up, the red light appears, then goes off. The Humax splash appears when the blue light appears, but takes a time for signal to come through. Has this been covered in software update forum?

So last night the box kept on rebooting every 5 - 10 minutes. not sure if related to the upgrade or that the box has a fundamental dislike of the Eurovision song contest.... will see how it goes tonight. Just in case I need it tomorrow, what's the best number to call humax on?
