Will do. Now just to work out how to get the important recordings copied to my pc when the box crashes so frequently. Could be a long process!

Netflix is back or out now if you weren't in the beta thing.

1. Have you tried a factory reset?
2. I think we would have more users reporting if it was caused by the software update.
3. Replacing with a recon unit is the norm from Humax - Where did you buy it?Bought from John Lewis. I may try them to see whether I can return the box for a replacement seeing as I purchased less than 6 months ago.
Given it is less than six months old the consumer does not have to prove there is a fault as it can be considered inherent. It is up to the supplier to prove there isn't a fault.
I doubt you will have a problem with JL, I have always found them brilliant to deal with.

My box must have updated to the new software at some point over the last 2 days. I'd been away, and when I went to use it last night got a screen message telling me so.
I found the same problems as Luddite - whatever channel I attempted to view would first stutter after about 5 minutes and become unresponsive to any remote control commands, then freeze, then the machine would reboot, only to repeat the cycle. I tried turning off the power and starting up from scratch a couple of times with the same result.
I am going to try a factory reset today (I'll have to be quick to get to Settings before it freezes!), and hope that solves the problem.
It's a pig, because I've been very pleased with the box up to this point.

Okay, following the box freezing issue mentioned above, I did a factory reset. This went smoothly, and when the machine booted up I found the Netflix app in the On Demand section.
The box worked fine for a couple of hours.
HOWEVER - last night, after less than an hour's viewing, the picture stuttered, froze, and the box became unresponsive. Ruddy hell. Infuriating. It was working perfectly well before the latest software update, apart from the well-known start-up from standby issue.
Anybody got any suggestions as to what I might try?

I have just returned my 8 week old capuchinno and exchanged, after update as screen freeze and the replacement is no better. This update 1.01.11 is causing operational issues!

Latest instalment of the screen freeze/reboot issue - after a factory reset failed, this morning I did a reset and reformat. Massively annoying because amongst my recordings I had the final 3 eps of Marcella to watch.
HOWEVER - after the reset and reformat the machine seems to be working normally. The kids watched tv for two hours today and the screen didn't freeze. I'll report back if the situation changes, but for this afternoon at least the problem has been solved.

Still no fix with the issue of the schedule and favourite channels being deleted after doing a channel retune. AMATEURS!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH hate this bit of kit! A factory reset didn't cure the problem.
Again, it appears to be when it's recording.
Box is hot and HDD is whiring
Press on button on remote and nothingWife left it and waited for it to finish recording but the box is still whiring
Press power on and the red light doesn't even blink or change to blue. No picture, no sound, box has locked up!
Left it for 20 minutes, blue light came on of its own accord. no picture or sound. She tried selecting a different channel and just gets a blank screen.
Box is locked up with the blue light lit.
I really don't want to swap it because we have a load of recordings!
Only one thing left to try is hard wiring the network through my powerline rather than wifi. BUT if that works I will need a new 2 port Powerline (one for Xbox and now one for Humax) Who's going to pay the £40 for that, eah???? We shall see how this goes.
Going to phone Humax and have a moan.....

Just get a cheap 5 port switch to supply both devices from the existing Powerline; cost about £5.
