Will this include a fix for the HDD missing problem Barry ?
Does the HB1000S have a missing hard disk issue ? I thought it was confined to twin tuner models with internal HDD's. HDR-1000s. HDR-1010S and HDR-1100S.
More than high time missing HDD issue for HDR-1000S was fixed.

Agreed - I have not spotted a single post on the HB-1000S having any problems with their attached disks.
This could be the first one then.
I've had my Graded HB-1000S for about ten days. The first thing I did was upgrade the firmware. I connected a Seagate GoFlex hdd, which it found, formatted and asked if I wanted to set it for recording. It then immediately forgot the drive was there and asked me to connect a drive.
A few days later it also couldn't see the drive.
It also won't display crids (using the hidden system menu), but otherwise seems excellent value for £39.

David.
Try a new usb cable. I have had a few faulty cables recently. I couldn't figure out why some large .AVI capture files from a DV camcorder were being curtailed when I copied them to a 2TB USB 3.0 drive. Changing the cable fixed it instantly.
Has the Seagate drive got it's own power brick or is it powered by the Humax? They are better if self-powered as the Humax will cut power to USB when in power saving mode itself? Also do these drives have firmware to control power saving. Both items can cause issues when used as attached storage to something like a PVR
