I was surprised as Barry only mentioned how to get it by using "Check New Software" from System Settings. I've been away from home for a few days so it is quite possible that the update happened then.

Mine didn't auto update, it was only when I checked it said new software available, whether it would have had I left it I don't know.

Do you know if The Towers are intending to make any of these software enhancements available on the 4000T
    Thanks

Hi. New here but have a problem with latest update. Got my 5000 in October, and whilst it's not as good as the T2, up to now, it's been adequate.
However, I recently updated to the latest software version, and now when I try to go back in the EPG, it just shows "Information Not Available"! Selecting 'On Demand' button also says it's not available, but to be fair it's been that way since day one.
I can get the back EPG on my Panasonic, so I know it's not a broadcast failure.
Any recommendations? If I have to do a Factory reset, will that erase my recordings?
    Thanks in advance.

This has been a constant bug on my 5000 with the old and new software.
I have found a power rebooting will restore it for a while, although this
has left me (more than once) with no iplayer, ITV, Ch 4 or 5 apps requiring another reboot to get them back.
You don't lose recordings or schedules.

In my opinion the whole software is buggy, slow channel change, slow EPG
page population changing channel, random subtitles, crap genre search,
    not remembering wifi key.
I even have a gripe over the font on black being hard to see.
I don't know why no reviews (one I read did mention slow channel change)
    picked any of this up.

    Welcome to our Forum Geoff:-)

A factory reset will not delete recordings if you do not select the format HDD option, but it will delete your schedule so make a note of your timers.

Is your unit displaying the network connection as OK?

Thanks for the replies. Tried a 'power reboot', that had no effect.
Will try Factory reset tomorrow when I have more time.
Yes, the unit is displaying the necessary network connection.
Will contacting Humax support have any effect?

Forgot to clarify the missing apps, iPlayer etc, It's not that they don't work, they're not even there, completely missing, no icons the only apps are the Humax eye, My LP and those types

Did you agree to the terms and conditions during set up?

I've agreed to Humax T&C but that doesn't explain why they don't load
after a reboot but try again and they do, I've only experienced this
a few times out of rebooting every couple of days (some days twice) since purchase. (The youtube app doesn't load either)
