GT - The IPlayer no longers works - I select watch and and the page changes and hangs there - I guess that the HDR buffers it to the disk? That's interesting, one for the modified firmware users to investigate. However it works on the Foxsat-HD and there's no HDD

Graham - had to change the disk order - No stock of WD10EAVS - looks like it is discontinued as I can't find it on WD's site.
Went for a Western Digital AV-GP 1 To 7200 RPM 32 Mo Serial ATA II - WD10EVDS (bulk).| Tue 19 Jul 2011 16:24:42 #23 | -
Yes - could not get the WD10EURS which has the best power specs.

I put what I thought was the origional drive back in the old HDR yesterday (so it would be ready to go back). Tuned on the box this morning and a new message - to the effect that the drive connections should be checked - which I did. Indeed I had forgotten to reconnect the sata lead yesterday - stupid. Fixed this repowered up box expecting to be back to the "cannot control HD message" but got the unformatted drive message.
Replied Yes - format completed very quickly - could now access media (empty) tried to instant record - but no recording.
Rebooted - Drive not formatted - YES.
Much longer this time (good sign) - now records - appears to be fully functioning. Tried dropping the drive I have replaced from the New hdr into a drop in caddy - yes you have guessed it it is the origional one from the old box. [It's easy to mix up two identical drives]The WD10EARS that was in the old box is fully functional in a caddy.
I am a bit puzzled by all this - after I have finished my current project I may try the WD10EARS in it again - just to see if it was a glitch.
Barry (or anyone) do you know what disk Humax put in the 1TB HDR?
