Can someone assist me please? My new TV is HDMI only, therefore I need a converter. Do I simply purchase a scart to HDMI lead or do I need a converter box costing £30 plus?

    Thanks

Are you sure that your TV is HDMI only? Many recent TV's do not have a scart socket, but they do have a dedicated scart adaptor cable which plugs into a special port on the TV.

I've rechecked the TV, which is Tesco Technika LED and there are two HDMI sockets and one RF in.

    Thanks

Has it not got component in sockets? I can spot 3 Technica TVs currently for sale that have 2 HDMIs and no scart socket, but they all have the component in option.

If it has component in, then that would be an alternative option to try to connect.

Yes. Looking at the rear of the Technika I can see video, R, L, Y, PB, Pr and RF in.

    Thanks
