A series record will record until the last recording is more than 13 weeks old, it will then be deleted.

Oh,interesting that, how do you know?. Not that we will ever be away that long. We did go for a month over Christmas and it failed to record anything after 29th Dec. I was told it was due to Samsung (our tv) doing an update, but have no proof.

Because that's the agreed time that has to elapse before the broadcaster can recycle the CRID codes for a different series.

Basically the largest gap that can be accommodated in a series recording is 12 weeks.

Well well well, you live and learn. Oddly enough Graham, I was aimlessly browsing and spotted several threads all in the same veign, ref Humax stopping recording so in a way, whilst it's a pain, glad it's not just ours.
