Anyone experience subtitles appearing even though the option
    is off?
If I change channels it stops, seems to happen on BBC1.
    e.g. last night:
Changed to BBC 'eastenders' subtitles on, checked option is off, yes it is,
changed to ITV no sub tiltes, went back to BBC they're gone.
This morning watching BBC news, sub tiltles appeared again.

Could someone have accidentally pressed the 'SUB' button on the remote?

    Hi
No, when I check the subtitle option it's off even though the subtitles are there.
Didn't catch the other thread, thank you for showing me, seems there is
    something going on

    It happened again tonight.
I'm at a loss to think of something I'm doing.

I’ve had this once last week, couldn’t quite work it out. For me it was Coronation St and likewise the menu said subtitles were off. I cycled through the option and set it back to off and they went.

Also now read that thread. So it’s longstanding... Another bug but one that doesn’t look to be regular.

In a strange way that's reassuring!
Thought I was losing the plot.
It does away with my theory it was only BBC as that seems
to be the only channel I've had it.

I've had it happen. We had an earlier bug on the 4000 where subs were on by default and that was fixed. But this is intermittent and like you say the sub option is off at the time.

Hi all, There is another side to this, those who need them on all the time!

I have them set to 'on' in settings but they are mostly 'off'
they do come back by turning on off then on again on the remote.

Does anyone know what turning on the 'hard of hearing' does?
I have tried it both on and off, but cannot see any difference.
    Mick.

I've recently replaced my Panasonic with an LG and notice this Sub title problem happening far more often, It happens when I bring the TV out of stand-by, the Humax will have sub titles even though they're switched off, I do nothing to the 5000 , just switch TV to S/By then back on and they're back.

Don't know much about the 5000T but I suppose if connected via HDMI the full encoded programme might be passed to the TV, with all tracks picture and sound. Are there TV settings for this?
