Not sure I understand what your asking, the TV is connected via HDMI, something in the software communication between them when the set turns on
is switching on the sub titles, must be some bug as menu says they're off

I keep getting an issue with subtitles, it was doing it before the latest fw and is still doing it with the new fw.
If i pause a program i am watching and didn't have subs on, sometimes when i press play to resume, it starts playing with subs on, i then have to just manually turn them off with the remote afterwards.

is switching on the sub titles, must be some bug as menu says they're offI have the same issue, intermittently, when I turn on my Onkyo AV receiver. This has happened since day one, so not related to the latest firmware.

It's happened since I first had the unit, it happens far more with my new LG over my old Panasonic. I can be watching TV via Humax, switch TV to Stb and back on and subtitles will be on even thought they're off in the menu.
I don't old out any hope of Humax correcting this or any other problems to be honest, I think we've been hung out to dry on this one, I suspect the 5000 is regarded as an oopsie around the water cooler at Humax towers.| Wed 26 Sep 2018 12:16:44 #15 | -

Anyone experience subtitles appearing even though the option
is off? That often happens on my 4000T. A? The? sequence to repeat it is:
1 Watch a recording.
2 Switch on subtitles and see the subtitles.
3 Stop the recording and watch TV.The subtitles now appear on the TV channel being viewed (and, I think, on other channels when you switch TV stations).
4 Press the SUB button - the subtitles are shown to be OFF even though they are being shown.
5 Press SUB to ON. Press SUB to OFF.The subtitles now disappear.

This has happened once or twice to me over the last few days. I assumed I'd pressed the 'Sub' button by mistake but it's clearly looking like I didn't from reading this.
