How can I check it is the correct hdmi input?

Use your TV remote to check that your TV is set to the same HDMI port that the Humax is plugged into.

On the TV remote there should be a button like a small TV with an arrow pointing in Press this you should see a list of the hdmi ports on your TV, Select the one the 5000T is connected to and press OK.

The button may not look like that at all. On my TV, it is just marked AV.

Anyway, it appears that Jenna has sorted it out.

I can report that I successfully recorded a couple of programmes.

I am very grateful for this site - previously I had emailed Humax support and got a response some days later referring me to their FAQs - I would have thought that they might have guessed I would have looked at their FAQs first, before emailing them - oh well.

So very many thanks to all!
