    Thanks again Graham.

I am just not used to a box which seems so temperamental. As well as the two oddities described here, it keeps on forgetting the channel logos, they just seem to come and go at random. Also, I have lost access to iPlayer and the other catchups except via the EPG. And then there is that perishing "Watch in HD" message which is a disgrace.

I feel so suspicious of what it is going to do next.

My Topfield, now dead, seemed a bit unpredictable at times, but it was nothing like this. I may see if I can get it fixed.

To get your logos and players back, just delete the cookies and they will magically appear. I have to do this on an almost daily basis.

    To delete the cookies:

Freeview Play button, then Up to 'i', press + then choose Yes and finally press OK.

I've given up on expecting any of these bugs to get fixed, they seem to be getting more rather than less. You used to be able to delete waiting schedules, but now I have the same problem where I cant. The only way is for a factory reset which is ridiculous. I know they disappear after 13 week, but you should still be able to do your own house keeping.

The Watch in HD doesn't bother me as I watch everything in HD, but it goes away after a few seconds anyway.

Thanks Harters. I am fairly sure I tried deleting cookies previously but I cannot remember how I did, though I don't think it helped.

When I go to Freeview Play, I cannot see anything marked "i" to select - is there another step you missed out, or is its absence yet another bug?

Edit: I found it - you have to go to Players first. Deleted cookies - no difference.

Edit2: Actually, all the logos are there at the moment, but they may not have been missing right now anyway as they come and go. The icons for the players are still missing though. I have got the ones I am not interested in - YouTube, Netflix etc, but not iPlayer nor the ITV, Ch4, Ch5 equivalents. That applies to the main Home page where they used to be along the bottom and the "Players" page where there is just a row of large greyed out boxes.

I don't mind that the Channel Idents aren't always there in Recordings, Guide and Schedule, although all three are fully populated at the moment, as it doesn't affect the box's operations, though of course they should be there.

But I too don't have the BBC, ITV etc. players, and neither unplugging, nor deleting cookies brings them back. This is more inconvenient as you have to find another way to access them. Fortunately I don't use them very often so I find the easiest workaround to be using the 'Search' function to find the programme I want in the 'On Demand' section.
My Dad, who has the same box as me, still has a fully functional Players screen.

I can however still delete programmes from my recording schedule using either method.

Thanks Stephenesque. Yes, I can still delete a programme from the recording schedule if it is for a programme/series which is currently in the EPG. The problem is with deleting series entries when the series has finished, eg. the three part programme last week about Stephen Lawrence.

Edit: Just tried it again and the expired series deletion is working now. I wonder if that was sorted by removal of the cookies.

It was the deletion of expired series that I was referring to, though I didn't make that clear, and I could delete them both before and after I'd removed cookies.

That's the problem with these bugs, they aren't consistent across boxes, so I assume they are down to the way we each use them, which I suppose makes it more difficult to isolate and fix them.

My channel logos are also here today, they were not earlier in the week. I’ve only deleted cookies once months ago, the logos just come and go as they please. However I will try that next time they are gone and see.

Yet I never to my memory have experienced the players becoming greyed out.

Schedule delete has just worked for me, must admit to never trying it before.
