    Hi All,
I'm new to the forum. I've just replaced my 9200t with a new 4000t. I was pleased to see the rf out on the spec as with my previous model I was able to watch the recorded media in other rooms via via the rf out, and an amp/ splitter in loft. Having set the new box up in the same way, it occurs to me that this is not possible with the newer kit. Is there another way? My kitchen TV, which Is Where I'd like to sometimes watch the recorded shows, is a Sony TV. It can see the 4000t over the network, but the network diagnostics keep saying failed.

I hope I've giving enough info to glean an answer from someone

    Many thanks

    Nige

Ah. The only problem is the phono output is being used to send sound to my Bose system. I can't use the optical for that because the optical input on the bose is already occupied.

Can the 4000t share its recorded content with another Humax digital box idea cheaper non recording unit?

Alternatively you could use a mechanical toslink switch or even a fancy remote control toslink matrix switch,

Thanks gents. Whilst considering these options, I'm still working on a more elegant solution which would be to use the dlna feature. I've now got my Sony TV to see the recorded content of the Humax, however when I select it it says playback not available. Is this a file compatibility issue? Or is there a simple fix?

    Thanks for your continued support.

Sadly according to the FAQ you can only view recorded and Live TV (SD only ?) on mobile devices using the appropriate app. If you have a tablet or smart phone I guess screen casting or a hdmi/MHL cable would let you play back from the mobile device to a larger screen.

I've been playing with that option ie casting from my phone or tablet, it seems to just freeze on the first screen I cast from android phone to the chromecast. The live TV app, looked promising as it offered to play the files in Google video from which I could cast, but when it opens Google video wouldn't play the file. Shame.

I'll try my iPad when I prise it out of my sons hands, but I don't hold t much hope.

    I've just found this

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sumvision-Cyclone-Micro-Media-Player/dp/B005EX8XKW/ref=pd_cp_147_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=1XNN0RXDGV871MSE49HT

Which may do the job if it can play the files from the Humax. At £30 it's worth a punt. Anyone had any joy with this?

I use a similar portable media player and it works fine. Not having a FVP 4000T can't guarantee it will work. Can't you use dlna to stream them from a folder on your PC ?

I use the Live TV app on mobiles & tablets which works fine for both live TV and reccordings. I have a new Samsung Smart TV (DLNA compliant) in another room and that can see the Humax & play recordings across the home network fine. The only irritant with the mobile app is there doesn't seem any way that you can control the play of recordings (e.g. pause, fast forward etc) nor at the moment can I find a way to cast what is "live" on the humax to a mobile device e.g. a recording so that the humax and device are in sync ?
Samsung had an app that did this allowing you to cast the live display from the Samsung to your mobile but bizarrley they have dropped this great feature.
There are some great features in this Humax box but quite a few things I don't like e.g. the UI (compared to the PVR9300 I was using).
