It's in Stand by all the time, red light, when not in use. It's very rarely unplugged.

Mine has also quietly updated itself in the past few days as YT is now working perfectly.

Humax Support website now update for 4000/5000T so YouTube fix software can be downloaded from there.

The Search function is now OK but the 'Back Button' is still not working!(at least on mine).

Same here, but pushing the button with a square logo on it, just above the Netflix button on the RM-L08 remote, gets you part of the way there.
