Tried power off, wait, power on and exit during start up and then waiting for 5 mins but still unable to access On demand or Showcase from the menus. Get the usual "Showcase is not currently available" message.
On demand works when accessed off of EPG menu but not from home menu.
Have recycled bb router as well and repeated the Humax restart steps but has made no difference.
Anyone have any suggestions to try?
    Thanks,
    G

Try a factory reset and once you have gone through setup leave stb alone for 5 mins on full screen tv. Remember you will loose scheduled recordings but actual recordings will stay.

You forgot reselecting 'connect automatically' in network settings.

This appears to be the solution freesat are now suggesting.

    So far I have:-

Powered off, left for 30 seconds and re-powered on.
    Pressed exit during startup sequence.
Accessed network connection and box tells me it is connected via ethernet and the ip address and that Iplayer is available.

Now tried factory default and reset box,
    Go through the setup wizard
It tells me I am connected.
Completed wizard and gone to a TV channel.
Gone to settings / network connection and it tells me connected with ethernet and same IP address as before and that Iplayer is available.
Leave for 5 mins access On demand or showcase from the home menu and same error.
Go to EPG and access on demand and iplayer works.

Am I missing a step? I don't use STB mode if that is affecting it?

Although various users have reported return of function following various sequences of steps, no sequence seems to work for all. Personally I doubt if a reliable remedy can be found until the problems are correctly diagnosed.

You did reselect connect automatically? Just looking at the settings is insufficient.

    Yes, re-selected connect automatically.
    Made no difference

The functionality appears to be coming back but I now have Showcase and On Demand from the Menu but not from the EPG. Admittedly not done a factory reset as have a load of recordings set up.

I've done the factory reset, tried shutting down the power and leaving it 5 minutes, restarted and connected wi fi and every other permutation and nothing seems to have made any difference. The freetime from the EPG will not recognise that the wi fi is connected although the on demand from the showcase is working fine so I'll just keep using that. I now have to go through and reset all my schedules though C'est la vie, rien ne va plus and all that.

I've just noticed another thread and tried BBC2 SD on 109 and the freetime function works when that channel is highlighted. Apparently there are others that work as well but not the one I was trying to use when the fault occurred, channel 4. It will get fixed I'm sure so I'll live with it for now, it's only a small part of what the box does and it's still a good tool for what we want.

Mine is the same, You will find BBC News HD on 200 also works. Suspect we will have to wait till Monday and Freesat sorts out it's servers (again).
