I've just installed this update - has this solved the recording from standby problem?

I installed it last night and seems to be working fine this morning. Prior to that I added 2mins padding to recordings and that also cured the problem. Thanks for all your help Graham

So this update is a beta. How log before it is available OTA? Or through settings and firmware upgrade?

As per post #3 there are no plans to transmit this version OTA.

I'm confused then. If it fixes a problem why wouldn't humax make it available to everyone. It seems a big assumption to think people will read this forum and download a manual beta version.

At a guess, because Humax think they are close to fixing some of the other reported problems. Releasing a software version OTA does cost money.

I wonder why they still opt for OTA updates with this box, when it is an IP enabled box. Sending out updates via IP would be cheaper for Humax (presumably). YouView update their boxes via IP I think?

Anyhow, I installed this update a few nights ago, and it has indeed fixed the recording failures

Does applying this update wipe the recordings? All of mine have disappeared since I applied it...

Nope. it shouldn't even delete your schedule either. See reply in other thread

If you know what you are doing, and are sure your unit is not recording then you can carry out the update from standby, no need to disconnect power to unit.

Can you please explain the steps to apply this from standby? I've downloaded it and have it on a USB stick. thanks
