I realise a network cable is more reliable but I can't run one it's too complicated.

As I said, bbc iplayer now seems to be working ok.
In any case, if it was a wifi problem surely all the channels would be affected?

In reply to your latest post re the IP address.
The address I gave is the one indicated in my network connection status page.
There are two other addresses which are
    Gateway address 192.168.1.254
    Primary DNS server 192.168.1.254
There is no other IP address that i can find.
    My ISP is Plusnet.

Is your box and router on the same ring main ? - ie both go off if you switch off a MCB or pull the fuse,

You can use the ring main to provide a wired connection.

That's very slow. Test using your laptop.

My ISP download speed is 100Mbps. The home plug adaptors transfer at 300Mbps.

What speed does your isp claim you should have.

iplayer uses adaptive bit rates it reduces the content quality to give you the best quality it can. At 100Mbps it looks as good as live HD TV.

I'm sure it does and you probably have fibre broadband.
I just checked the bbc iplayer website and my speed should be enough and I've already changed to SD. In any case, why should i suddenly be having this problem with just one channel when all has been well up until recently?

I will check with Plusnet and I will try and follow all your links.Thanks.

Plusnet speed test gave me 5.4 and 0.9.
I will get in touch with them and see what they say.

I now recall that I've had intermittent wifi problems with zoom calls and whatsapp video calls recently. All part of the same issue i expect. Maybe Plusnet are trying to get me to invest in fibre broadband
