Is there a reason you can't change channel to one that's recording when 2 recordings are taking place? Last night I was recording on C4HD, but also watching that channel. A recording was also taking place on BBC1HD. When the C4 programme finished (but box still recording) I tried to change channels to BB1CHD but got the 'can't change channels while recording' message. I could only change channels by stopping the C4 recording.

The unit knows that a recordings has ended when the running status is changed by the broadcaster.
If the recording has ended but the running status has not changed - the unit will continue recording, which is indicated by your unit still recording.- broadcaster cockup.

But that doesn't explain why I couldn't change to the second channel I was recording.

But that doesn't explain why I couldn't change to the second channel I was recording.I have often wondered about this too. It's not as if you are trying to change to a third channel on a different mux but simply changing from a channel that is recording to another channel that is recording.

Were you within 15 mins of another recording starting?TBH I can't remember. Having three PVR schedules to keep track of I feel like the code breakers at Bletchley park some days.
I will wait until I see the warning again and then check. Given most of the programmes we record tend to be on the BBC then if there was another programme scheduled it was likely to be on the channel I wanted to move to.
