This is all very strange. This model has always seemed very temperamental, just another example.

On another point I particularly miss the skip forward and back features of the FOX unit, great for skipping over ads.

If you press the "looking glass" (search) button and enter a word/name etc it should search your stored recordings, the catchup/on-demand services and the EPG for any future broadcasts.
Correct!
I often use it to search the EPG for future recordings - and it works. On occasions when nothing is returned - pressing OK whilst the cursor is in the box sometimes works. On rare occasions a reboot is required because the Humax has got itself in a muddle. As my Humax is not permanently connected to the internet (but is connected to a LAN), the idea that future items can only be found from a remote server on the net is clearly not correct.| Mon 28 Sep 2020 14:42:43 #26 | -

On another point I particularly miss the skip forward and back features of the FOX unit, great for skipping over ads.The left and right arrow keys next to OK achieve skip forward/back.
Going to F/Settings/PVR Settings/Playback Options allows you to set the forward/backwards times.| Mon 28 Sep 2020 14:45:49 #27 | -

On another point I particularly miss the skip forward and back features of the FOX unit, great for skipping over ads.It has the same but slightly hidden capability.
As the ads start press OK. If the progress indicator is not blue press up to select. Then buttons either side of OK are the forward and reverse skip keys.

Thanks Graham, pleased to find that, couldn't find it in the manual.

If you begin a search and enter "FL" you will see a list of suggestions appear. If you type in "FLO" you will get the suggestions and the option to "search by FLO" (I am only using caps for clarity).
The "search by" option only appears when the search string contains three or more characters.| Mon 28 Sep 2020 16:02:22 #30 |
