Reference the Hard Drive not being recognised. Humax support say the issue is being looked at but expect it to be several weeks before a likely fix - quote "We are currently investigating the issue and should have an update within the next few weeks."

Does anyone know where you can get hold of Rollback software OLDER than "3.00.18"? I'd like to see if going back to an older version solves the problem. Using a USB to SATA 3 connector, I have established the drive is OK and all the recording appear to still exist.

Billibob - your link ends up linking to current 3 versions.

The disappearing recordings issue is a well known phenomenon. I have experienced this ever since I purchased the box a couple of years ago. It happens on an infrequent basis and a power disconnect and reconnect a few minutes later has always cured the problem. My 2000T behaves similarly only with that a simple reboot cures it.

So not so stable you could balance nitroglycerin on them then?

If you know what it is and expect it on an infrequent basis then it's nothing more than a mild irritant, similar in nature to people knocking on you door to sell you something you neither want or need.

Thanks for link, but as Repassac says it only goes to current software, which is what caused problem in first place.
Sadly rebooting doesn't help, the hard drive is just not recognised at all. A USB stick is recognised, but cannot be formatted.

Just to update. I found a firmware version 1.00.22 and applied that, but no difference. Just have to wait an see if Humax Support actually come up with a solution. Personally I reckon I'm now the proud owner of a spare Satellite tuner

There have been a couple reports of the disk and recordings re-appearing out of the blue.

sold mine for junk. Maybe the new owner gets more luck with it than me... sadly gone back to sky, through gritted teeth. Won't touch Humax again.

Talk about an extreme over-reaction. I certainly don't buy into all these alleged HDD failures. Despite what many people would have you believe HDD are an extremely reliable form of storage (touch wood )

Another unhappy HDR-1000s owner here. I have 4 of them in the house (all 18 months old) and 2 have failed in this way. I used the freetime app with one box for about a week (about a year ago) before removing it, the other box has never been paired.

I also was unlucky enough to have the displeasure of talking to the very unhelpful Bethan in customer service.
