Some of us ONLY have the option to watch regional news in SD. Those in the STATE of LONDON are well catered for though so that's all right

Well said! Those living in the State of London have the local programs broadcast in HD so they can delete all the SD channels and don't get the problem.

As for the "doesn't offer the HD equivalent for ITV" problem - see Record ITV SD does not offer ITV HD

Sorry to correct you, but as one of those London dwellers we don't get our BBC local news in HD either
We get the same annoying screen telling us to change to SD.

Satellite viewers have the option of viewing any of the regional BBC SD (and National HD BBC channels). On a Freeview box how hard is it press 1 to switch to your local region ? On a satellite box you have to remember 3 numbers

Assuming you are talking about a Freesat box.

    950 BBC 1 London
    951 BBC 1 CI
    952 BBC 1 E Mids
    953 BBC 1 East (E)
    954 BBC 1 East (W)
    955 BBC 1 N West
    956 BBC 1 NE & C
    957 BBC 1 NI
    958 BBC 1 Oxford
    959 BBC 1 S East
    960 BBC 1 Scotland
    961 BBC 1 South
    962 BBC 1 S West
    963 BBC 1 W Mids
    964 BBC 1 Wales
    965 BBC 1 West
    966 BBC 1 Yorks
    967 BBC 1 EYrks&L
    968 BBC 2 England
    969 BBC 2 NI
    970 BBC 2 Scotland
    971 BBC 2 Wales
    972 BBC ONE HD (England)
    973 BBC 1 Scot HD
    974 Channel 4
    975 Channel 4 + 1
    976 BBC 1 Wales HD
    977 ITV (London)
    978 BBC 1 NI HD

Sky boxes will have different logical channel numbers.

If you are referring to Freeview, you have a local transmitter, compared to satellite 22000 mls above us, you have a ground based transmitter at the best about 1000ft above it's location. You have one local BBC SD channel on lcn 1.

Not exactly sure what your post means, a tad confused

Not press one button! Although that is what you will be doing by pressing the '1' button.!

Press the button with a '1' on it and it should switch to BBC 1 local SD!

Last time I was in a hotel in London watching BBC Breakfast when it cut to the regional feed BBC London News came on the same HD channel?

That would be a function of the setup of the Hotel's MATV system fed from their local headend. There is definitely no regional news on BBC One HD on Freeview or cable.

Edit: I may have to check Breakfast as I always have it on SD but all the longer news bulletins are not on HD.

In any case, a lot of London news makes it on to the national bulletins. I never bother with the regional broadcast.

Is there a feature request portal for Humax where requests for new / changed software functions can be submitted?
