It's worth adding, Barry, that I've lost count of the posts I've read on various forums on the subject of HDMI problems with the 1000S (which I boldly assume this user has bought). Humax have made an absolute dogs dinner of this simple connection, which other makers seem to get right first time.

Works perfectly well with the 4 brands of TV I have used, LG, Philips, Toshiba, Sony, all 2011 or later models - so we'll have to agree to disagree as to who has made the 'dogs dinner'

However until the OP provides more details......

Id say the OP is using a <free time> box myself.
It may not be a total dogs dinner, but for non tech folk or for those that don't visit forums this issue can be quite confusing and leave them thinking the box is faulty.
I'm using a Samsung and most of the time you get no joy if the box is currently recording, which it has been posted by others as well as myself on how to get around this issue that has only been present since they added HDMI CEC control. I've even disabled Anynet+ on my TV, but still have issues.
Using workarounds like disabling the TVs HDMI CEC and making sure the TV is switched on and fully active on that source before the Humax is turned on shouldn't be needed.
If rather they have an option to disable HDMI CEC from the menu on the box itself.

Same issue on the HDR t2 with my samsung as reported previously.
If it's recording and I switch away from the hdmi source when I go back to the humax hdmi source, the negotiation fails (pic blanks out every second). I have learnt that pressing vsource renegotiates it properly, but I should not have to do this.
The humax box is the only hdmi equipped box that behaves in this odd way.

Surely the volume of people telling humax that there are hdmi issues with their various boxes over the years would result in an investigation and consumer advice note by now?
I know they are busy, but come on, we're not making these things up are we.

Yes, agreed. I have Panasonic and Samsung TVs and all HDMI sources work perfectly with both types, other than the Humax.
