A brief review from Pocket-lint, plus some photos including the remote.

Well I've had my white 1100S for the best part of a week now and am "over the moon" with it. PQ is superb, and it really is a doddle to navigate. Boot up time is not too bad and it is a big step up from my old FoxSat box..
The only "problem" I have encountered so far is when I go to the "help and info" tab on the home screen, the box kinda freezes and won't accept any inputs from the remote.
If I switch it off and back on again this cures it.
I emailed Humax support about the issue and have been advised to carry out a reset to factory defaults to see if this cures it.
If not, they will look into it further for me.
The installed software is UKSFAA 2.02.34 and a quick check for updates shows that I am running the latest version.
Have got a local guy coming out this morning to replace my ageing dish and wiring as they are both past their sell by date.
But as I say, so far I'm well impressed and even my wife can use it!

Sounds familiar. Have you seen this happen with "On Demand" or "Showcase" options? Did you do the Factory Reset as per Humax?

I note rather disappointingly the new box is still only a DNLA client - not a SERVER, or am I wrong?

Given the Freeview version 2000T can act as client and server I am not sure why the Sat version still has the omission.

The HDR-1***S boxes are under the control of content owners. Content owners have no interest in DLNA servers. (My opinion)

At the announcement of the 1000 series in 2012 Humax stated that it was their plan to make a server facility available. Whether they were thwarted in that intent is open to speculation since they have never followed up either implementing it or commenting on it.

    @ Smiffy

Cannot replicate the issue you report with 'help and info' tab on home screen on my 1100S 500GB (black)

What would be the difference then between the Humax 2000T acting as client and server whilst the 1000s/1100s can only act as client? Apart that is from the obvious i.e. one is Freeview the others Freesat.
