Thanks for the quick replies, so I don't need to spend £30 extra for the 1100S if I'll never need the WIFI and not bothered about the slightly smaller unit? Don't mind paying the extra if theres something extra with it (apart from WIFI).

    Thanks.

Only the front display showing the channel you are viewing, or the current recording you are watching. Also the near invisible icons in sby (magnifying glass in a darkened room recommended

I had one from weeks before spotting them.

Also if you need a digital clock, the 1000 series has one with low power enabled.

Or of course if you require the scart output (Perhaps to record in RGB to say a DVD Recorder, the remaining composite output will be significantly inferior).

Well I'll be blowed. You learn something new every day. I had no idea the darn thing has a digital lock and I've had it two years. Mind you it has always been set to low power standby.

A summary might be useful, not only for frenchbob but for others who might be wondering which to buy. Is this correct?

1000S has Scart and front display, but WiFi requires dongle

1010S has Scart and front display, and dongle-free WiFi

1100S has dongle-free WiFi but no Scart and no front display.

All three have CVBS and analogue stereo outputs on RCA phono sockets. On the 1100s it's the only way to connect to a TV without HDMI/DVI in, other than using a HDMI to analogue converter. This connection is also handy to connect to a rf modulator.

Does the 1100s have a CAM interface?

None of the freetime boxes have a conditional interface (CI slot). Non-freesat mode is very limited so there would not be much point. You woulf have to back to the Foxsat-hdr to find one on a Humax satellite box.

I beg your pardon but my 1000S does indeed have a CI slot. It's on the right of the box?
