Thank you I will look at the transponder input and signal strength,
If the old STB works in Freesat mode that proves that the LNB is working?

Sadly this is only true if you have tuned horizontally polarised channels. The one you have could all be vertically polarised

I set the transponder to 11426H 27500 2/3 and in Freesat mode it searched briefly before rebooting.
    Signal strength was 90%

You should have been checking in non freesat mode. The quality is the important one. If you get a decent signal in non freesat. Change back to freesat mode and run a freesat tune. You should first be asked for a postcode.

    Hi thanks for that
I must check to see if the polarisation of the channels is the problem.
The LNB could be at fault and produce this?
Before changing it I need to test it.

During a freesat tune. Yes I am asked for a postcode and it accepts it but then searches for channels briefly and then reboots. After reboot it says No channels found.

One problem with the old STB was that whilst tuned for example to Sky Arts (12070 H 27500 5/6)
it would crash after a few minutes and then freeze. Requiring a power reboot to resolve.

Also a possible lnb or box problem. If you still have issues do a reset to factory defaults in freesat mode. Yuor NVram contents may be corrupted. The operating system is in NVRAM (non volatile Randon Access memory - retained after a power shut down)

The dish is in a very awkward place to get to.
How can I test the LNB?

By manually tuning to both horizontally and vertically polarised channels in non freesat mode. You should easily get 100% signal and 100% quality on UK spot beam transponders.

    Hi Thanks for that
An example of the result I got is
Transponder All Strength 90% Quality 100%
    Trans 10714 H 22000 A Str 90% Qual 100%
    Trans 10729 V 22000 A Str 75% Qual 0%
Does this seem like a LNB fault
