I have recently purchased the HUMAX FVP-4000T digital TV box. I have networked it with my computer and found I could transfer my recordings to my computer. This worked fine for the first day but when I tried it the next day no files show in the recordings folder and an error of THE REMOTE MEDIA LIBRARY DID NOT ALLOW THE CONNECTION. PLEASE CONTACT THE DEVICE MANUFACTURER FOR MORE INFORMATION. Can you help?
    SAMBA SERVER = ON
    FTP SERVER = ON
    PASSWORD = OFF
My computer under network / media devices shows icons for
    FVP-4000T MEDIA RENDERER
    FVP-4000T MEDIA SERVER 192.168.1.104
My Computer under PC shows a folder FVP-4000T MEDIA SERVER 192.168.1.104 with a sub folder of MY CONTENTS / RECORDINGS but this shows as empty
If I do a factory reset will it delete my recordings?

    Welcome to our Forum

A factory reset will not delete recordings, however it will delete your recording schedule, default any other users settings you may have changed.

What do you see if your enter
    ftp://192.168.1.104/
    into a browser?

If that does not work can you check in settings on the FVP-4000T that the IP address is still ...104.

Hi REPASSAC Sorry for delay in reply I have set the 4000T IP address manually to 192.168.1.104 as it had changed. When I enter ftp://192.168.1.104/ in internet explorer there are 2 directory shown
    Media
    Recordings
If I click on recordings then press alt to bring up menu, view, open ftp site in file explorer but nothing happens

If your router supports it I suggest you set up a DHCP address reservation for .104 for the PVR's MAC address. That way if you go back to DHCP it wont change and more importantly it will not also allocate .104 to another host which would cause a lot of problems.

If suggest you go back to what you tried in #1 and in My Computer when you see the list, press function key F5 to force a rescan. Then repeat what you initially tried.

I find this very iffy some days it works others it does not.

Currently as per your post #1 my recordings are listed via my computer/fvp4000t/my contents/recordings, yet if I try ftp to the IP address currently assigned the recordings folder is empty...

I've tried assigning and reserving an IP in the past, that made no difference, some days it works others don't.
