I'm new to the forum. I too have had the problem with the unit not responding. It started on Friday evening. I also see the little clock symbol on the display. The only way I could get mine to work was to switch off from the electricity supply and then re-start. This happened several times over Saturday and Sunday. My machine is not connected to the internet. I think I have the HDR 1000S. It is 18 months old and I wouldn't be able to take it back as I can't find the receipt. If anyone can give me some idea of what could be wrong it would be great.

It is somewhat gratifying to hear so many others are having this problem! However that does not help the situation.
I too noticed the clock icon on the box display and at first thought that one of us had inadvertently pressed a button and locked the remote.
We like everyone else find that powering off at the mains then powering back up is the only choice though a most unacceptable solution.
We are not in the UK so taking our box back to Currys where we purchased it last September is not an option at present.
I certainly hope that Humax can solve this for all of us, that is if I ever get a reply to my email or manage to speak to someone at their support centre!

    Update:

Humax Towers have acknowledged they are aware of problem, they are getting a few calls into support centre as well.

    More when I have it.

    HDR 1000S
    Software Version: UKSFAA 1.0.8
    Update 04 Nov 2004
I have joined this forum to add weight to the pressure on Humax to resolve this problem.

My problems are exactly are the same as every one else. I have had the box for over 18 months and have lost receipt so wouldn't be able to return the set. The problems started last Friday and have continued through the week end and I also have the small clock showing on the screen.

Resetting the box resolves the issue until it happens again.

    Welcome to our Forum

Recheck your software version and date as what you are reporting makes no sense, especially the date.

Both my partner and myself are having the same problems. Not connected to the internet as we are both in France.
Becoming really annoying having to unplug and plug in everytime we want to change channels. They are both 1TB boxes.

No consolation I know, but I have just witnessed the lock up, and Humax Towers have as well.

Clutching at straws - my unit would have been near to the auto power down time of 3 hours...red herring?

    Hi All

Just to echo what you all have said so far. I have been having the same problems since last week. Have also noticed the clock/timer symbol on the box. Box is only 6 months old, had been working fine up until now and was really pleased with it. Frustration was really starting to build over the weekend the number of time I had to shut off the power to get it working again. Looking forward to what Humax towers come back with, otherwise I will be demanding a refuns from the retailer.
