humaxrw linux trying to read 9150T disk

Hi,

On my Win 10 PC I can see the .hre files but if I look at the sequence after the humaxrw 1: -p *ts command I can see that only the .ts, .elu and .epg file were copied over. The .hre files were not. What's the command for the ts2hrw?

I can see in the README.txt file that it says "The utility ts2hrw will create hre files given a list of ts files. It will not replace any existing hre files. After the hre files have been created it is then possible to use the humaxrw "put" function as above to copy the files back onto the Humax disk."

This implies to me that it will create the .hre files on my win10 pc but I already have them, so "It will not replace any existing hre files" means to me that I don't need to run ts2hrw. How do I copy the .hre files across to my new humax drive? and why aren't the existing recordings showing up?

Hi,
In all cases the .epg and .hre files are 1 or 2 KB irrespective of the size of the .ts file. The .elu files are a few hundred KB.

Not certain but try humaxrw 1: -p *.hre

and why aren't the existing recordings showing up?

Because the hre files are missing.

Hi,

Firstly I copied the 4 new files on the new drive to my win 10 PC so that I had the full suite of files on my PC. The .hre files also came across. I then did humaxrw 1: -p *.hre and all the files, except the .hre files copied across to the new sata drive. When I do a humaxrw 1: -l I now have 70 files listed i.e. every file is duplicated.

If I run humaxcheck 1: -l I get the following:

The .hre files also came across. I then did humaxrw 1: -p *.hre and all the files, except the .hre files copied across to the new sata drive. When I do a humaxrw 1: -l I now have 70 files listed i.e. every file is duplicated.

What you have done sounds sensible to me but clearly isn't working. The humaxcheck output looks a complete mess to me and I suggest you will be better off formatting the disk to start with a clean slate. I have messaged xyz321 who is the real expert to see if he can help. In the meantime I suggest you copy the four files for a single old recording to a different directory on the PC, delete the .hre file and use ts2hrw to create a new .hre file and then see if the four files will copy back to the 9300T.

HI,

I copied the files relating to a recording to a new folder, deleted the .hre file, ran ts2hrw and all I get is invalid number of argumanets (presumably arguments, sorry). There doesn't appear to be a -h option to produce a list of options.

How do I reformat the new drive? Can I do it from my pc or do I have to return it to the Humax?

Started looking at the link but it looks like a long read. Need to spend some time going through it to see if it can help.

You have to return it to the Humax as far as I know.

It is a long read but there just MIGHT be something in the details that will help you.

One thought is that now you can access the old drive, see if crystaldiskinfo or something else will access the SMART data. It might be easier to fix the problem with the old drive if it is still in reasonable condition.

It has done a lot of hours (I don't recollect seeing a drive from a Humax with as many as 79,337 hours) but seems to be in decent condition. I need to gout now but will have a think about what might be causing it not to boot up properly.
