    This device was launched today.
I had been keeping an eye out for the Amazon recast but I think this device will cover all my requirements in the near future and ....not a bad price too?

Voice control and no analogue audio out? Not for me then.

s/pdif toslink to analogue audio converters widely available

    From spec

    S/PDIF Out 1 x Optical

You don't have to use voice control it has a normal remote control.

My Tv remote has voice control and it's super handy as does my 4K firestick.

Being an oled it's susceptible to screen burn. If there is a static image I just press the microphone button on the remote and say "screen off". It's a cinch to change inputs. Once you have it you wonder how you managed without it. Press 1 on the remote it wakes up instantly.

Don't you have a smart phone these have Voice control. My car entertainment system is voice controlled. I can say Phone Fred and it rings Fred.

You need to join the 21st century

Is it possible to say what the user interface will be like?

Can we reasonably infer that the Freeview Play experience will be similar to the FVP-5000T?

Aye, I can work around the limited audio output capability with add on adaptors, splitters and switches but is that really what we still need to resort to in the 21st century.

It is the physical presence of voice control which makes me wary. I would want to take a pair of wire snips to the microphone. Never used voice control on my phone or tablet. Of course I could use a unique variant of my online identity to log into iPlayer and other services on this device so foil any linking to any other variant of my online identity harvested from elsewhere.

I should have been clearer, apologies. I'm specifically interested in the TV guide screens/user experience.

The rest of the Android TV experience will presumably be the same as other Android TV products, but I'm wondering if we have any way of guessing what the EPG will look like/function like, the recording/playback etc.

Do we have any clues/information about whether it will be similar to other Humax products or might it be a wholly new design?

I've emailed Humax to ask but I'm wondering if any of you guys have insights because I'm completely new to this ecosystem (recently cancelled Sky and keen to purchase my first non-Sky PVR).

There is a blurry image of the TV guide on the 1st link in post #2, behind the smart phone.
For a clearer version of that same image here is another link.

From the date that appears to be six months old and so may have been tweaked compared to what will be available at launch, but I doubt it will have totally changed.

Thanks Luke, that is very handy.

I suspect that I won't get a better answer on this without buying one lol.

I will look for somewhere that has a no-quibble return policy in case it doesn't meet wife-approval (At the moment she's quite upset that I talked her into cancelling Sky so whatever we replace it with has to pass her inspection).
