This morning because there was nothing else on I could hear the the aura HDD was not running. I put it in long push sby late yesterday evening.
Started a stop watch when I pushed the remote power button. You can hear a very small sound as the HDD spins up if the room is very quiet.

Good Morning Graham,
Just for clarity I first noticed this problem with my Aura
My highest channel in the EPG is 795, manually tuned .( served by Crystal Palace, Bluebell Hill, Dover, and Sudbury via 'Rouncefall my transmitter of choice' ).
This problem arose becauce my original choice was ITV HD 103, when I clicked on the EPG the record option only gave 'Record' no series link. I then checked in the following days EPG no recording flags were visable. I then set indvidual days, some presented series Links !. I checked my freesat Fox Sat HDR. The same problem was seen in the EPG no record flag present for subsequent days. On further investigation it would appear that due my postcode I have
ITV HD Meridian ITV SD London
BBC 1 HD London BBC 1 SD east (east)In a post elsewhere a mention was made of broken series links after the ITV swop on freesat.

In a post elsewhere a mention was made of broken series links after the ITV swop on freesat. Are you saying you have manually tuned channels from more than 1 transmitter ?
If so in common with all Humax Freeview-HD kit it screws up recordings set from the epg. Series linking fine for me on both a HDR-1000S and a Foxsat-HDR.
Freesat does not have this issue. In fact all the BBC channels HD and SD appear in the epg. This does sometime cause issues generating multiple recordings.
eg if BBC1 Scotland - HD happens to be showing a different episode to BBC1-HD england it generates two recording reservation if you already have one scheduled in this time slot you get a clash message because the boxes have a limit of 2 simultaneous recordings. The aura of course can record 4 at the same time subject to mux.
If you delete any channels not from your preferred transmitter I guess it will work OK.
