When pressing pause on a live broadcast, it no longer pauses, I just get the message:
"The function does not work while retrieving data for time shift buffer.
Try again in a few minutes."

I believe that one comes up if you try rewinding only a minute or two after starting to watch something. I believe it's saying there isn't enough in the buffer yet to allow you to rewind. Watch for just a little longer and you should be ok.

Yes I know, I've had my Humax HDR-1000S for about 6 years .

As I was trying to pause, I didn't want to try off/on, power-cycling etc as that would be counter to what I wanted to achieve. I'll try again later and see if it's cured by power off/on.

The other possible explanation is that the time shift buffer has become corrupt. The easy fix is to format the hard drive but that has the rather serious consequence of deleting all the stored recordings.

Those with a HDR 1800T or 2000T please check, info received that it should be working now. Fox T2 still has issues I believe.

Does anyone know whether the following issue is known on 4000T:

I don't use the iplayer app on the Humax very often as it always seemed to fail when watching live TV - ie going into iplayer to watch from the star a programme currently being broadcast.

Eg I used to try to watch Newsnight from the start if it was mid-broadcast - it played ok for a few minutes then always suddenly cut to some cooking programme that I assume was on earlier that day.

I've done the same on a youview box and it works without issue so am wondering whether it's a known problem.

HDR-1000S YouTube still not working as of now.
A new problem seems to be occurring as of today (as far as I know):
When pressing pause on a live broadcast, it no longer pauses, I just get the message:
"The function does not work while retrieving data for time shift buffer.
Try again in a few minutes."
I also needed to re-login to iPlayer, as this seems to be a new BBC tactic.
    Just to watch tv, FFS.

That just means you have reset the time shift buffer by changing to a new channel. it needs to build some content so live pause works. Try it again after about 15 seconds or so.

I still have the pause problem 24 hours or so later, even after power-cycling:

"The function does not work while retrieving data for time shift buffer.
Try again in a few minutes."

We have more than half a terabyte of stuff recorded and my wife won't consider losing her stuff to a disk re-format.

Obviously I have tried "again in a few minutes" too more than a few times.
