    The DTG is closing its over-the-air software download service, dubbed "The Engineering Channel".

    Since the launch of Freeview, TV and set-top-box manufacturers have been able to use a dedicated data stream that was broadcast in the background alongside the BBC's digital TV signals to send software updates to their receivers.

    Internet connectivity was part of the specification for receivers that wanted to display the "Freeview HD" logo, and is now an integral part of the newer Freeview Play service. Most manufacturers don't issue updates for older non-connected TVs or boxes.

    My 5000 is still on 1.03.45 Aug 18 and wont find any update when checked.

    Most Humax software releases have a note giving a brief indication of what has changed. My suspicion is that sometimes there are bug fixes that are not mentioned but the claim that "Humax never tell anyone" is simply wrong.

    My Humax box has just installed the UKTFAE 1.03.47 fw.
    Does anyone know what the chages are?

    Afaik know it is just a update linked to the GPRD regs.

    After the update you just have to confirm you are happy for Humax to contact you by registered contact details.

    Basically a non-event

    It's the first time an update had happened since I have had my box. Do I need to do anything? Nothing had popped up to say anything has happened or does it just do it silently in the background so I wouldn't know any different?

    Yesterday my 4000 updated to 1.03.47. I've emailed Humax asking for details but had no reply yet.
