I agree nice that they are back, maybe you could try using a small pair of binoculars
Excellent idea - tried using my National Trust binoculars - (opera sized) can now see the icons perfectly. Did get a strange look off the wife though I can't think why.

Rebooted this evening on .46
I was using iPlayer at the time. On checking later in the evening I noticed that the recording that had been in progress at the time (on True Entertainment - don't ask) failed after 45 minutes (the time of the reboot). I've also noticed the REC icon is now permanently displaying on the front panel display of the box.
