    Good God!
How small do you need to make photos!
    I'll re-post when I get a minute.

Resize it so the longest side is 1200 pixels

    Philips (red)

    Humax (orange)

Sorry for the links. It was the easiest thing to do.

The apps button is red on my TV not Orange.

Play this back on your TV.

There are other 4K RGB Test image sequences

Comparing those two pictures, I think that you have got the "colour temperature" settings different. The Philips screen definitely appears to be "cool" because it has a blue cast.
The colour temperature settings may be further into the system menu than you have currently accessed.

Set the image resolution to 4K50 first

    Find this in Youtube.

Pixel Refresh - RGB Color test (4k)

    Johnny NamNguyen

It has an initial 4k greyscale test. If a TV has a color balance issue it will show clearly in a greyscale image. It then goes on to show graduated red immages etc,

The grey ones on my TV are just shades of grey no colour content at all.

None of the pure red vertical stripes look orange just variations in brightness. Same for the other two primary colours

The colour temp is the same for both the TV and the HMDI input. It's the same on the Virgin Media V6 box and the reds are red.

Even on the playback of the YouTube clip the reds are orange on the Humax. Red on the TV's YouTube app, the VMV6 and my media player (Zidoo Z9X).

I've ordered another Aura and a Freesat recorder of another make to compare.

Occam's razor would suggest that the Aura is at fault.

It's the greyscale images you need to look at.

"The colour temp is the same for both the TV and the HMDI input. It's the same on the Virgin Media V6 box and the reds are red."

And that may be the issue. Don't just assume that the colour will be the same for all devices because the settings are the same. That's why your TV has the option to apply specific settings to each input. Try changing the colour temperature (and hue if it's there) on the Humax hdmi input to something cooler.
My TV, when comparing the Humax to the "live" TV via the inbuilt tuner definitely shows a warmer image live but I never watch live so I can't be bothered to change it.
Although you may have a faulty box, my 15 years of experience as an installer have shown me that 99% of these type of issues are not caused by faulty devices.

    Cheers for the input!

I'll see what happens when I install the new kit tomorrow.

Or you could save yourself the hassle by changing a few options on your TV.
