    Thanks. That's one more for my Humax wish list - "Please provide a utility? software update? which allows me to enter my old Humax box details into my new Humax box so the new one can play my old Humax HD recordings"

    It will not happen. The licensed use of the epg insist on encryption on recording HD to disk if the broadcaster requires it. The key is unique to the motherboard. It is thought to be derived from the serial number and MAC address of the box.

    If you want that sort of flexibility you would need to use something like a HTPC which is not encumbered by the epg licensing requirements. Having said that there are ways round this on the Humax Freeview+ pvrs which cannot be discussed here.
