Turned my 2 month old 5000T on to find 'NO Recording'. Schedule is there, but nothing on recordings - VANISHED!

After shutting down to standby, try turning off the power to the box for a few minutes then back on. Always worth a try when things go wrong.

Of course it does. We do it most nights, but switch off for rather longer than 'a few mins'.

It takes longer on the first boot of the day to re-populate the epg. (For some reason the cached NVram epg copy gets deleted during overnight housekeeping). If you are too quick you get the no recordings message. If you leave the box for 3 or 4 mins after going back to live TV the recordings list populates itself. There is no need to switch off the box or remove the power.

I use a daily timed power on/off pair of timers (BBC1-HD Volume Max) 15 mins apart to repopulate the epg every morning.

I agree with Graham but in my experience, you don't need to wait for 3 or 4 minutes; 30 seconds to a minute could well be long enough. (I am guessing the time will vary depending on the number of stored recordings).

Great stuff in replies for which I am most grateful.

I shall sleep better knowing that my capacitors are discharging and my memory is temporarily cleansing itself ready for a fresh recall in the morning ~ better if I put the kettle on while I'm waiting for total system recovery. A fresh programme guide for the coming week will be an enormous help.

    many thanks all

Lost all my recordings but thanks to the info I saw on this site - I turned off the Humax, unplugged it and left for approx 30 mins. Recordings came back when I plugged it back in.

My fvp4000t will allow you to select program to record but when trying to play back there is no recording even though the title is in the recordings window?
