Is this normal behavior - Box was last on channel 145 and in standby. Box turns on for scheduled recording on channel 107. Whilst the program is on, I turn on Box. Box is single LNB with link cable. Box shows channel 145, which is NOT available at same time as 107. Should it not show 107? After a few seconds I get a conflict message. I cancel the live channel, 145. Only now does it switch to and start recording 107 but the first half of it is missing. Why would it do that?

Scheduled Recording Conflict

Hi welcome to our forum. Not sure if this would be considered normal it would take some testing to check. More info is needed.
Firstly it is of course true that while tuner 1 is tuned to 145 (High Band Horizontal) that tuner 2 could not access 107 (Low Band Horizontal).
145 is one of a tiny number of high band channels left in the freesat epg. In fact while using 145 there is only 8 2nd usable TV channels. For a low band channel 2nd channel choice is a bit less than 50% of the total channel count.
1 Did the scheduled 107 recording attempt to start after a overnight shutdown (ie Did housekeeping intervene) ?
2 Was the 107 schedule a normal accurate recording with no padding times set. If so I would have expected the box to wake 15 mins before the recording was due and switch to 107 to watch for the AR start codes. Using padding may interfere with this action. It would need some experimentation to see if this actually happens as expected.
Shutting the box down on a channel that shares the same band and polarisation as the next recording would pretty much guarantee the next recording will work.
See this thread to get a list of channels sorted by band and frequency.

If you look at the list you will see the tiny number of High Band channels in the epg.

Thanks, yes it was a normal recording and had been shutdown overnight.
You may remember I had a previous thread (https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/no-or-bad-signal-after-standby) about failed scheduled recordings but only if it was left on certain channels and was only in standby for a short time. (half an hour/an hour or so) This seemed to be some issue relating to my dish motor. (bypass the motor and no problem) Hence I got into the habit of manually switching to 145 before going into standby. I don't think this new issue is related because when that happens I get a "no or bad signal" error when switched out of standby, until I switch to certain channels including 145.
Hopefully it was a one off. I can live with the occasional failed recording, it doesn't happen too often.
My signal strength/quality is always about 95/100 or 100/100.

Why 145 ? Is it a channel you often use. I would have thought a channel in the same band and polarity as the Freesat Home transponder would be the best parking slot (11427 H) as it should guarantee housekeeping will run.
How about 105 (or even 999 which is actually on 11427 H) ?

No, I don't watch 145. It is just what I found when investigating the original problem with the dish motor.
I just repeated the test now:
Switch to 101
switch to standby
switch out of standby
101 gives "no or bad signal"
I use channel up and continue to get error until I get to channel 144. (so I could have used 144 instead of 145)
I can now switch to any channel.go to 145, go to standby and back on ... no error.
The loweest number "good" channels that prevent the error are 144, 145, 146, 159 etc. (105 is not one of these "good" channels". EDIT; neither is 999)
As mentioned, if I am in standby for an undetermined time, the error does not occur and scheduled recordings work, regardless of which channel was last on.
If I bypass the motor, this does not happen. I suspect, if I buy a new motor, it will work but don't really need it just yet.
It is all reproducible 100%.
It's weird, no idea what is going on, or what is different about those channels.
