Hopefully someone can help. I'm not technically minded at all, sorry!

I would be very surprised if the TV did not at least have manual tune which you can use (You don't actually have to scan). Only ever had Sony and Panasonics TV's. If you post the model number there may be a manual on line available.

Tuning broadcast signals manually Try Now (MENU/123) MENU Broadcasting Channel Settings Manual Tuning
You can scan for all the channels manually and store the scanned channels in the TV. To stop scanning, select Stop. " This function is only available on certain models in specific geographical areas. " This function is only available when Aerial is set to Terrestrial or Cable.

Grand. Odd though, the channels I can retune manually start from channel 32. There's no channel 31.

    To clarify, only channels 32, 34, 39, 41, 44, 44, 45 and 47.

Not sure if that means anything to you.

    I'm scratching my head.

Looks like you can only choose MUX found on a auto tune. As you have 32 on both, your communal system must be doing something very odd to your Freeview com 7 frequency.

Channel 32 is 562 MHz. Channel 31 is 554 MHz.
Can you try the box at a friends with a normal aerial ?

I know that they installed a new aerial a while back, before I had to use a signal booster to get a decent signal. I'll try the box at a mates and get back to you. So far, though, the attenuator seems to be helping (at least on the humax).

Thanks for your help thus far though, it is appreciated.

Thanks for clarification of channel number when tuned to 107

Looks to me, with those channel numbers that are tuned to Hannington.
(guessing one of the 44's is meant to be 42)

FYI - not managed to take this round to a mates to test things - but the attenuator seems to be doing the trick.
