Yesterday the box did not reboot during the evening but at one point the remote stopped working. Only cure was to restart the box.
But in hindsight, James B could have a point:
"Is it a problem with the remote, or is it a problem with the box freezing?"]

I've also noticed that the Showcase doesn't appear to load anymore without being connected to the internet.

Although I couldn't use the showcase catchup before as I disconnected the unit from the internet (due to is seemingly causing the box to hang) The section regarding up and coming programmes during the week still loaded and I found that quite useful, but now it says I need a broadband connection to use it.

Freesat can't make their minds up where Showcase should get its data. On release it was available without an Internet connection and then it wasn't. Recently it went back to getting its data via satellite and now they've changed their minds and gone back to internet only again.

Personally I'd prefer it if showcase worked without having to have the box connected.

Touch wood mine is refusing to get any of these new rebooting problems, it's just happy to stick with the old problems.
Turned it on last night, only to find no guide and no recordings, but it sorted itself out pretty quickly only to be followed by a lockup (no response to remote) so I had to reboot it anyway.

Before i bought this Freesat box i should have read this forum first, i never would have touched it. It seems every time Freesat have a release, problems are guaranteed. Freesat need to stop using street corner testers and test the releases properly. Very disappointed.

If you had read this forum prior to the update you would probably have gone out and bought two. It is without doubt the best sat box money can buy - e.g. it's head and shoulders above the Sky+ HD box I used to use.

I also own the Humax 2000T Freeview version and again the 1000s is the better machine. You have simply been unlucky with the update. Again I have the update and experienced no issues whatsoever, a case of business as usual.

    Barry,
Also having the same issue. I have the Fox Sat + box and using an Edimax dongle, which until the update was working just fine. I can no longer get any connection, it does not recognise the dongle.
Is there a way to wind back to the previous version? or will we be receiving a fix to this problem anytime soon from Humax do you know??

    Welcome to our Forum

Apologises for the delay in replying.

Humax Towers are obviously still investigating issues with latest software, and it is clear now there is more then one.

Instances of rebooting problem are not as regular now, or so it would seem from this thread.

Icons missing and dongle support would appear to be unrelated and a separate issue.

Whilst rolling back software would provide a fix, it is not the preferred option - yet.

and to all members as per my post #172

    Please keep reporting issues.

More than once? HDCP server active on router? IP acquired?

    Update:
23:15 box froze. Had the sound but picture froze and wouldn't turn off. Switch off at socket, turned back on. Now appears OK.
