So reading the article, it sees to suggest for Netflix 4k, it requires an extra chip which may or may not be in the Humax Aura.

For Netflix SD or HD, if the article is correct, it seems to suggest that it should be possible.

I agree with both those statements.

I didn't read anything about a specific chip, more that Netflix will only authorise 4K on boxes they've specifically tested to ensure compliance. I doubt the Aura will shift enough boxes to make that worth Netflix's efforts. Netflix want to make sure the 4K customer experience is high and consistent, which is fair enough.

Shame though that they aren't facilitating a 1080p-limited app on the Aura which they could do without much fear of quality being a problem.

Again, has anyone bothered to run the Widevine checker to see if the Aura is Level 1?
If it is, that would indicate that the absence of Netflix is a licensing issue between Humax and Netflix.
If it isn't L1, then that suggests something else, possibly hardware related.

Yep, just checked by installing DRM Info. Confirms L1.

Looks interesting. Can anyone they can confirm this works on the Aura before I try it?

Yes it works, Netflix at HD with 1080p, no air mouse and also get to add it down the side channel tabs also.

    Great news.
That suggests 4k is on its way.

Does it? I read that page as being a hack of the APK which doesn't give any insight into Netflix authorising the Aura to be an approved device.
