Does any of the files you are using actually have a subtitle track ?
You can check using the tree view option in Media Info

Because this is a UK forum and no one will have your box so no way to find out how to add subtitles to a external file. UK subtitling uses the DVB standard. Even if someone brought one here from Australia without a firmware upgrade it wouldn't work. UK digital DVB-T/T2 digital TV uses a different channel spacing within each multiplex to Australia. You should ask on a local forum or speak to Humax Australia.

And?Trev's comment was directed at grahamlthompson. GLT are the initials of grahamlthompson.
On the whole the members of this forum are in the UK and that is why your Nationality was mentioned.
We don't have the 2tune in the UK. The nearest we have is the FVP-4000T and FVP-5000T (same model two names!).
I haven't that model but GLT has.My suspicion is that it is like previous Humax models and that it only provides subtitle capability as required to support the broadcast standard.

Suspect the simple media player software wont't have any way to turn them on. Nor will there be a way to switch the audio track to the MP2 Audio described option.
Going to try this file

Result as expected - no issue with video. Sub option displayed under progress bar is not accessible. SUB button on remote says no subtitles. AD button on remote says no audio description available.
Perhaps a file copied from HD-FOX-T2 might work (AAC audio rather than ac3).
