So my fallback actually would rewind me back to before the version I'm on now.

For crying out loud!
You have been offered the patch, just accept the offer, install it and you will have a working YouTube. It may not be perfect but it's better than nothing. And when any niggles have been resolved, I'm sure that it will be integrated into a firmware update down the line.
Stop being so paranoid.

Thanks all for your ongoing support. I'm not being paranoid at all but admit that I do take my systems' software quite seriously. Because of this and various other issues, I've relegated my Humax Freesat box to my secondary system, reverting to my Humax YouView box (ironic?) which features far superior software IMO, but doesn't include YouTube (which I really wanted during lockdown as so many artists released content onto the platform).

3.00.98 is the version number.

Which unit do you require the software for?

Ok so i guess there is no fix for this from humax!! you'd think it would be
easy enough to either send it via the sat signal or since the box is internet
connected that way at least.
Oh well i'll make sure to buy nothing that says humax on it going forward.
as i said in another thread unlike today the ole days were better you only needed a TV + VCR they always worked for ya and everything that was worth watching was on the five free channels.
Total waste of my time joining up here!!!
