I spoke to JL, and unfortunately got a vague type, who referred me to Humax. Chap on there very indifferent, saying the only thing was to reformat. It was an occasional glitch. Challenged if anything was being done, evasive answer effectivley was no, as it didn't happen very often.

Methinks Humax needs to lose its monopoly over Freesat hardware.

I don't hold out much hope but you could try running the Disk Clean Up option.

Settings - System Settings -Storage - Right - OK - Start disk clean up.

No luck I'm afraid. It's bite the bullet and hope the fault doe not occur again. Just out of curiousity; do other HDRs (not necessarily Freesat ) suffer the same problems?

Will I have to reinstall the Freesat software too? If answer is a yes, where to I get it from and how do I load it to the 1100s, please?

The software is in NVram not on the hard disk, so a disk format will not affect it.

Thank you for all the patient help given me. Process was painless, and I was pleasantly surprised that my planned future recordings and series had been retained.

    I wrote too soon!

Not having any recordings to watch post format, I tried to use the On Demand facility, to be met with a page about Showcase, and no sign of IPlayer etc, whilst on the Showcase channel number is blank wallpaper.

Please, can you advise me, what to do next?

Just wait. they should populate in a few hours. If you want to speed things up tune to a BBC HD channel.

Presumably also selecting the On Demand option on l/h? How long should it take to populate?

No need to do anything other than leave it on a BBC channel. Time varies could be an hour or so.
