Hi just joined this forum. Have been having the same problem for a couple of weeks now. HDR 1010s only a few months old. When problem present, only off, volume and mute work from remote, and once off pressed, cannot switch back on via remote.Have changed remote batteries, but remote works perfectly after on/off at mains performed. sw is UKSFAA 1.08 dated 4 Nov 2014. Was about to complain to Currys but will await outcome of this thread

I've had this problem a few times lately too, usually the box just locks up while I'm watching but last night it locked up after I paused a recording. When I switched it off with the remote it came back on with an almost black screen apart from the paused programme time in the bottom left.
Had to pull the plug to get it working again. No internet connected. Old box 1000s

My box has started doing this again starting last night.
As it seems only Humax have this trouble I will be returning my box and staying clear of Humax products.| Tue 10 Mar 2015 16:17:31 #104 | -
Ahhhhh, and us again. Started last night with having no response from the Humax box in changing stations with the remote.
Trying to change stations manually on the box itself is also frozen. Identical problems of a few weeks ago.
Please administrator can you notify Humax again , your action last time prompted an update to fix the problem by them after that it was no problem.
We certainly won't ever by Humax again. They will have lost many future sales by this shabby performance.| Tue 10 Mar 2015 17:29:16 #105 | -
1. There was no update last time to 'fix' the problem.
2. Whatever is causing this is not of Humax making.
3. I alerted Humax Towers as soon as reports surfaced again.
4. What shabby performance, they have not caused the issue, something external to the Humax kit is causing it, and not everyone appears to be affected - since the reports resurfaced I have been monitoring 3 units, none of which have failed to respond to the remote yet.

Just out of curiosity are all these affected units used outside of the UK?
If so then I'd imagine Humax maybe limited in what they can do anyway considering Freesat only support Freesat boxes for use within the UK.| Tue 10 Mar 2015 19:29:42 #107 | -
Some LCD TVs emit Infra Red from the bacl lights, these HDR 1000s and 1010s remotes seem very sensitive to this wheras the old 9300T wasn't due to being on a different IR frequency. Turn your TV off, see if remote control works on box, you can tell by the front display. It was what was wrong with mine, there is a thread somewhere explaining how to shield the box from it using paper with a small hole in it over the IR sensor.
When the LCD TV has been on for about 30 minutes, the interference seems to stop.

As a test I placed a potato and a Guinness on top of mine this evening and it's been fine, maybe somebody from France could try something similar with a baguette, some Brie and a glass of wine !

Hi again, just to clarify the point just made that all problems seem to be on boxes outside the uk, although I live in Ireland I am only 20 miles from Northern Ireland which is part of uk, and from where my box was purchased in Currys,. and when I took box to a friend in NI it gave the same problem, not surprising as the same satellite is used .
